PATTER MAKING, WEST, EAST, WOMAN, BODY.
The main aim of the project is to give greater importance to one of the design processes,
pattern-making technique. It is used as a first resource, leaving fabric in a second place, without
affecting the final design. It is presented how to show and wrapped the body through of
pattern-making technique, taking as reference deconstructive philosophy and West pattern methods
along Eastern values.
The project will have a duality between Eastern and Western culture, researching on women values,
and the freedom they have had dressing.
Giving more importance to the link between art and fashion. Because of in art naked body has
always been shown, depending on the canon imposed at the time.
There will be also a reflection on the body as seduction in society, developing a study about the female
body concept. Giving as result its naturalization within society, being this the basis of the
collection.
It will be analyzed the way of working of the master of the Haute Couture, Cristobal Balenciaga,
with his influences and referents that were ey during his work. Showing special interest in the taken
of constructions of the designer clothes, emphasizing on darts, folds, and types of sleeves that stood
out in his designs.

The concept of the collection is focused on the naturalization of the female body in society. Using the technique of pattern making as the main tool for its narration.
